SoulCalibur 6 game details. SoulCalibur VI is the newest entry in the SoulCalibur franchise, a fighting game series with a strong focus on weapons. The sixth game seeks to introduce a new mechanic known as the Reversal Edge - a counterattack ability that enables fighters to quickly slash back if timed properly. Is Soul Calibur 6 worth picking up over other fighting games like Tekken for example? Really depends what style of game appeals to you more. SC is less combo heavy and focuses around the 8 way run, and obviously weapon variety. Both are solid fighters mechanically, although some might argue that SCVI's Reversal Edge mechanic takes away from. Earlier: 8wayrun user holden456 shared multiple images on the site earlier today reportedly taken by a player in Australia for Soul Calibur 6 that appears to show Cervantes and Raphael on the game's character select screen for the first time.
The images also appear to show up to four more potential character slots for Soul Calibur 6 which could be reserved for the game's three main DLC characters plus Tira or perhaps four more for the base roster yet to be revealed.
These pair of images reportedly come from an eSports event currently running or about to start in Melbourne, Australia on a new build of the game which also includes Azwel meaning that we may be getting the official reveal for the characters later tonight or sometime this weekend.
Cervantes had been essentially leaked on multiple occasions previously going back to the ESRB's description of the game and recently seeing his move set on a created character though this is the first tangible time we've seen Raphael in any form or mention for Soul Calibur 6.
It's no surprise that either of these characters would make an appearance on the base roster of SC6 since Cervantes has appeared in every main title of the franchise going back to the original Soul Edge / Soul Blade. The vampire Raphael has appeared in every main Soul Calibur title since his first appearance in Soul Calibur 2 in 2002.
